Workshops/Instructables LED Workshop

We are running an evening workshop at the space on Thursday 31st July at 19:00. The focus will be on LEDs; coming up with ideas and putting together projects that focus on using them. No idea will be considered too crazy! Instructables have kindly donated to us 2200 10mm LEDs and some batteries with the intent of generating some LED instructables on their site. They ask that we try and create two to be posted before September but don’t let this get in the way of creativity. We’ll think of ideas and prototype in this evening and can do the documentation/guides later.

We will also do a brief introduction to how LEDs work, power, polarity, ohms law etc. For those who want to read up on LEDs there’s a great page here with 30 example projects.

While soldering skills and a basic grasp of electronics would be nice, it is not required. We will have prototyping tools like breadboard so soldering is not required and we’ll try to have some microcontrollers and other components available. Children are welcome with supervision from parents/guardians.

Tickets are free to members and non members however we will not turn down donations to help cover our running costs! Limited tickets are available so please sign up quick to guarantee a spot.
